Palm Springs Wedding

I know that there’s those people out there who “hate weddings.” I am not one of them. I don’t really understand the whole “hating weddings” thing. Unless you’re a dude. The dudes, I get. I have always enjoyed getting dressed up and celebrating the love of my close friends or family members.

I thought that, perhaps, working in the wedding industry could make me “hate weddings.” But it hasn’t. In fact, it may have made me like them even more.

There’s something so special, magical, and intimate about filming a wedding. You get to be a fly on the wall (at least that’s how J and I go about it for Etch…photojournalistic bitches) and document a day that the couple will never forget.

In February, we got to travel to the ACE Hotel in Palm Springs to film the wedding of our friends, Kurt and Cynthia. Take all that “special, magical, intimate” crap I just said and multiply it by 10. The bride, Cynthia, is one of my best California friends. It really was extra special to be so involved in her wedding day. I got to experience and share so much more with her than I would have as a normal guest. There were tears, there were laughs, and even an “oh shit” moment or two, that I will never forget.

It was one of the most fun, easy weddings I’ve ever been too (sort of saying a lot considering I was working at it!) and I think it really shows that in the film. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!
