This recipe comes from my mom’s kitchen and I looove it. If you remember from this post, I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin but that does not stop me from devouring this bread. I recently bought a loaf pan and then asked my mom for this specific recipe because I knew it was the first loaf of bread I wanted to make.
What you’ll need:
1 3/4 cup flour
1 teas baking soda
1 teas cinnamon
1/2 teas salt
1/2 teas nutmeg
1/4 teas ginger
1/4 teas cloves
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup canned pumpkin
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour with soda, salt and spices. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar. Cream well. Beat in eggs. While beating at low speed add dry ingredients, alternating with pumpkin. Stir in morsels and 1/2 cup nuts.
Pour into greased 9×5 loaf pan. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake 350 for 60 to 70 minutes. (This is what my mom said. I baked mine for 60 minutes and it was perfect.) Let cool completely before slicing. Enjoy! (I love dipping it in my coffee in the morning!)
This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing — going to try it out this weekend. My bf isn’t a big fan of pumpkin either, but maybe he’ll take after you and like this bread?
This looks so yummy! Great recipe and beautiful photos.
