Fall To-Do List

Fall has become a really special season for me. I think it’s because Fall in California is so different from Fall in Michigan. I try to do my best to carry on the fall traditions I’ve had most of my life. We’re going to pick some pumpkins this weekend and do some carving, which brings along the pumpkin seed baking! Yum! But there’s plenty of other things I hope to accomplish this season..
(Yes, I tried Starbuck’s pumpkin spiced latte for the first time this season and I unfortunately was not a fan!) What do you think? What are your favorite traditions for the Fall season?

Do you miss Michigan fall so much?? I live in Michigan right now but will probably moving sooner than later and fall is the one thing I am sad about leaving….Do you like California?

  • My fall list always includes hayrides, fall festivals & cider/pumpkin pie with the husband and kids, but this year (actually in 18 days) it will include 11 days in Thailand on my first missions trip. My niche for the trip is as photographer! I am so sad that I will be missing Halloween with my kids (first time EVER), but know it is for a bigger purpose!
Oh yeah and of course pumpkin carving and seed roasting/toasting here too!

  • Liz says:

I grew up in Michigan and I love fall there SO much! Pumpkin carving, apple picking, sweaters, falling leaves, passing out Halloween candy, bon fires…love it all!

My main tradition, which we’ve started this year, is to make Sunday lunches for our friends/family every week. Last week went well, except a huge heatwave hit the UK so we were sweltering while cooking a massive joint of beef!

Kelli, I do like California. But Fall here will never compare! No pretty leaves, lame pumpkin patches, scarce apple orchards (if any??)..

  • good list! i like the idea of wearing more tights…i’m going to do that xxo
ps: starbucks latte, overrated i think lol

  • So cute! I love your list, Yay for fall!

  • Great list! I definitely agree with you on making a Halloween costume this year.

I am with you about the pumpkin spice lattes. I worked at Starbucks for a while and that pumpkin syrup is soooooo thick and orange I just can’t wrap my brain around it.

Pretty much love everything else on your list : )

  • Love this! To be honest, I’m not really a fan of the Pumpkin Spice Latte either… but when Christmas comes, I’m all over the Eggnog Latte!

    Great list!

  • Sher says:

I love your to do list! Funny to see it here because I was just thinking about making mine. I’m going to make two of them. One for things I have to do and one for things I want to do.

  • LC says:

Mmm…apple cider is a good idea. So is apple pie! There’s nothing I love more than apple pie…except (maybe) peach pie 🙂

I always like going for a walk after all of the trees along the river have changed colour. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it out before the wind picked up and loosened all the leaves.

  • Angie says:

DEFINITELY give the Pumpkin Spice Latte a second try!!! Jen and I have made getting one each a tradition for the last three years. ^_^ We also picked out our pumpkins already, both for carving and cooking, YAY!!!

    I love Autumn/Halloween goals!!!

  • i saw something like this on pinterest and it was so cute! a friend of mine actually printed hers out so she can check them off as she and her husband do them…

  • This is so me! I have to steal your list. I’m to tired to make my own. 😉 Can’t wait til we take the kids (5,3,1) to the pumpkin patch. <3<3

    Thanks for sharing.

I LOVE FALL! And I love this list. My sister got me to try Starbucks PS Latte. It was okay but the price was insane. I will stick to my coffee at home. Just to say: I love your blog and check in all the time. I am a stay at home wife and my husband LOVES all of the ideas I am getting. I am also learing to knit which is an adventure in itself.
