Well, I have a Renegade show under my belt now! I was pretty nervous going into this show because I’ve never done a Renegade before, and I feel like it is held so highly in the “craft fair world.” It has really made a name for itself throughout the country (and London!) and I’m so excited I got to be a part of the L.A. show this weekend.
Highlights include:
Sharing a booth with Gina
Hearing “oh I’ve bought these on Etsy”
Meeting a self-proclaimed “fan girl”
A woman sharing how my cancer card she previously bought “touched a lot of people”
Getting asked “Do you have those pencils?” because of the sneak peek I shared (coming soon!)
I had a great time! I have a lot of work to get done this week because I get to do it all over again next weekend at Renegade S.F.! The thought is daunting, but exciting. Getting more involved in the local (and not so local) craft seen was one of my goals for this year. I really like the thought of bringing JAA face-to-face with new crowds. Word of mouth is a form of advertising I am really trying to encourage and I think meeting people at shows is a great start to that.
Ok, time to go make a strong cup of coffee…in a cocktail shaker. Yep. I cracked my french press on Friday and desperately resorted to using a cocktail shaker to brew my coffee. It actually turned out pretty tasty. Maybe I should do a DIY post on it? ;] xo JA
This is amazing and I love the reactions. Ha! Your craft is so unique, beautiful and hilarious! Good luck in S.F. I”m sure there will be lots of highlights coming with that show too. 😉

Oh wonderful! I’m so glad it was a good experience for you. Best of luck next weekend, too!!
I think I would cry if my french press broke! Very clever idea. Glad your show was so fun. Must have been awesome to have people recognize your shop and you! x Tamara
Sounds amazing! I’d love to experience a big craft show the american way some day. Congrats on your first big show! I’m sure the next one will be even more successful. xo Hanna
How exciting! I really want to participate in a craft fair, but I’m scared! Sounds like you had the best time though 🙂
Wonderful! It’s great that you got so many great reactions!

Awesome that you had such a good time! Hope you sell out of everything next weekend 😛
sharing a booth with you was a highlight for me too :). My legs are still sore….I feel like I ran a marathon!
Coffee in a shaker?! Yes, share! Also, I am so freaked/nervous to do a little fair in November, you’re my idol. xo
Congrats on making it through your first Renegade craft fair this weekend! I wish you the best of luck this coming weekend, too. Are you guys going to make the trip up to S.F. the day before? I can’t imagine how happy it makes you to hear, “I’ve seen these on Etsy!” In May, I did the same thing to a local vendor. She makes leather, handbound journals, and I stumbled across their shop when I was looking for some Christmas presents. It’s nice to meet the artist/designer in person!
Looks amazing! I’ve always wanted to attend, but it’s a bit far for me, so it’s nice to live vicariously through your photos 😉
Can’t wait to see you on Sunday! Also counting my pennies and hoping I have enough spare change to buy some shit – ;P
