Of course, I immediately was like….omgomgomg. I was scheduled to be back in MI in just a few weeks for my bridal shower. Perfect timing, am I right?
The interview was scheduled for 8AM the day after I got into MI. I rolled out of bed (at 4AM Cali time) and tried to make myself look presentable (there was no hope for my puffy eyes). I saw the Channel 4 van pulled into the cul-de-sac in front of my mom’s house and the nerves set in.
We spent about an hour talking and at some point the nerves went away. I wasn’t completely sure what I was doing and wondered if I sounded dumb, but all in all it was a really good experience. The more I put myself out there, the more comfortable I will feel doing it, right? Lauren was really great to work with, she made me feel more at ease. It was really interesting to see the thought process of the Channel 4 crew and what goes on behind the scenes of a TV segment.
The story aired Friday morning and it was so so weird to watch. I really do think “you are your own worst critic” because I can pick apart a lot about it (from what I said, to whatever my hair was doing that morning). But the response was amazing! I heard from people I haven’t heard from in years who just happened to see the interview when they were getting ready for work on Friday morning. Pretty incredible.<3
I have to say thank you to Lauren for supporting Julie Ann Art and giving me this unforgettable opportunity!
