This one is great!! I’d like to try and recreate the lightning strike idea; did you all just use yellow felt on the bolt? 🙂
Oh man, you guys look awesome! And that may be the best butterfly costume I have ever seen. Nicely done!
I saw your costume on Studio DIY’s roundup and LOVE it!! What an awesome idea!!

Alright, this is the first costume I’ve seen that made me actually laugh aloud. Bwahahaha. THE BEST!
Great Costume and Idea.
Where does one get a butterfly net that large ?
That net was made by my husband using a large embroidery hoop and some netting bought at JoAnn Fabric’s!
Me and my hubby are planning on doing something similar to this for Halloween this year….I’m struggling to find glasses and these are my favorite! Are they a specific type? Any info will help!!! Thanks so much!!! :))))
Hey Mallory, I think we got them at Party City. :]
Love this couple costume! Would you be willing to share where you got the large net and also the butterfly wings? Thanks!
The large net is made out of an embroidery hoop and netting we got at Jo Ann Fabric’s. The butterfly wings were made out of foam board covered in felt.
How did you make you butterfly wings? I love that they are 3D.
They were quite the project! They are foam core board covered with felt. Then I attached straps to put my arms through. I also attached a black piece of foam core between the two wings (like behind my back) to get the wings to stand out.
I love that dress! where did you get it?
It’s from H&M.
Great Costume! Is the mustache homemade??
No, we bought that at a halloween store.
How in the world did you get the floral butterflies to stay attached to his shirt? They are so fragile!
