Blogging for Makers

Being a business owner has put me in several places that were outside of my comfort zone. Not just when I quit my day job, but things like attending events where I don’t know anyone, traveling alone for shows, putting products out that I don’t know if people will like… In the past couple years I have definitely done my fair share of things I wouldn’t have done before pursing JAA. As uncomfortable as these things have made me, I know they are also making me a stronger person.

This next challenge is no exception.
Next month I will be speaking at the Blogging for Makers workshop held by the Academy of Handmade. The workshop is focused on how makers can use their blog to benefit their business. Since I credit a lot of my business’s success to this blog and the blogging community it has introduced me to, this workshop is right up my alley.
I’m really excited to dip into this new outlet, but I’m also scared. I always hated speech class and dreaded any time I would have to present anything in class. Two years ago, if you would have told me I’d be speaking at a blogging workshop in front of people who are actually interested in what I had to say…I would been like oh heeeelll no. But here I am, in a new place my business got me to try. ;]

That is really exciting! Probably terrifying to, but the best things in life usually are 😉 And once you get going you’ll do great! I just wish I go.
