“Hey JAA readers,
You may have heard about me but we’ve never met.
I’m Jordan, the boyfriend, nice to meet you.
Watching Julie build this blog and grow her business has been such an inspiration to me. I love her for so many reasons I cannot name but her creativity is an ever-present source of joy and fun in our little home and I am blessed to be a part of it. In fact, her poise and success has motivated me to pursue my own creative venture. She makes me a better man (cliche).
Helping her with orders is, of course, the least I can do. It is a routine I am happy to be a part of and I never-ever hesitate to help (ahem). Ok maybe sometimes, but damn you guys order of shit ton of cards!
Beyond the folding, stamping, enveloping, and other everyday tasks, I really enjoy helping out with the bigger more creative stuff. I sometimes make suggestions on JAA card designs and even help brainstorm new card ideas. It’s great to be involved in the process and to see people respond so well to her card designs.
I’ve been saying for years that she needs to outsource her printing and fulfillment. But you know Jules, she’s a perfectionist, although I think she is starting to agree with that. Because every year, there’s more and more orders and we are, no joke, buried in cards y’all. Thanks for all the love!”
how fun to have the boyfriend a part of the biz. love reading the behind the scenes!
I’m so happy that your business is going so well, and that the two of you can play off each other’s creativity. Do you guys seriously cut out each individual heart that comes in those packages? I thought you had some sort of automatic cut-out/paper punch that did it for you. But him with the scissors in that last photo… just wondering. 🙂
I laughed when he said a shit ton of cards! Aww!! That’s awesome that you have amazing supportive boyfriend!! =)

I’m loving these behind the scene posts!
Haha what an awesome post! So glad to hear that your business just keeps on growing!
Aw what a sweetie. And I love that he helps you. You literally live in a house of cards… but in a good way 😉

so sweet! I wish I could get my husband to help package orders but I am way too much of a control freak…and he doesn’t know what “attention to detail” means :).
Once upon a time evan packaged one order. I redid it. Turns out tissue paper is more complicated than I thought. I keep telling him he needs to learn how to sew… but for now, it’s not happening.
Jordan- kudos for being a part of the Julie Ann Art assembly line! woohoo!
Awww! What a handsome sweetheart! I love Dana’s comment… you definitely live in a house of cards. It’s cool to see a bit from the inside of JAA 🙂
keeper.
So sweet. Greg helps me constantly also and I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am. Also, it’s hilarious to see Jordan punching those hearts. Greg does 99% of the punching around here these days 🙂
Way to go Jordan!
xoxo

OMG this is so sweet… 🙂 You are one lucky girl!
Favourite post so far! You guys are both very lucky from the sounds of it. Great photos for this post, especially that last one. I have a feeling, like Gina commented above, that I would be too control freakish about letting my guy help with things lol…I just make sad eyes to try and get him to drive me to craft shows lol.
Loving these behind the scenes posts! Thank you for sharing, it is quite inspiring!
This is one heck of a site and the best posts, I will bookmark you.
It’s an interesting thing with people that do stationary and cards. I know several, and every one of them would rather die from a thousand paper cuts than outsource their printing and fulfillment. There’s something to be said for taking extra special pride in your work, I guess.
Ha this is great. Cole helped me out once when I did GroopDealz back in the day. I had to make around 3,000 felt rosettes. Cole helped cut, knot and then package some. Such a good guy.
