I’m so excited for this week’s giveaway! The lovely Lynn , over at LynnsRags , is offering one lucky reader this dress! This is totally something I would wear myself, perfect for summer time! Lynn specializes in reconstructing vintage into new clothing so the gold fabric in this dress is vintage!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your business.

My name is Lynn and I’m the designer behind Lynn’s Rags. I worked in a resale/ vintage shop for years called “Rags”, so that’s where my name originated from. When I was younger I wore hand me downs, mixed with very few new items of clothing. I longed for variety in my wardrobe. When I turned 16 I fell in LOVE with thrift stores. Fun clothing from every decade at prices I could afford. The only problem was the fit, so I started to teach myself how to sew. I made clothing for myself for years. When my son was born, and I was going through a divorce, I wanted to try to work from home. I started selling my stuff on eBay, and now on Etsy. I have loved my job ever since!

Your clothing line focuses on reconstructing vintage clothing to make modern pieces. Do you use repurposing in other aspects of your life besides clothing?

I do repurpose items other than clothing. I love to paint furniture, or get items reupholstered. I used fabric as wallpaper recently in my workspace, because I’m not allowed to paint.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not designing clothes?

When I’m not sewing, I am having fun with my son and my fiance. We like to shop at yard sales, swap meets, and thrift stores. We love watching movies, playing board games, or going swimming.
