Halloween and Christmas, simultaneously.

This weekend we had a pumpkin carving party. The next day I worked on holiday card designs. Retail seasons are weird. My mind is trying to get into December mode when everything around me screams October, and it is making me think that time is going faster than it is.
The good news is that, despite a slow start, the holiday line is done and I’m preparing for a Friday release! (Sneak peek above from taking product photos yesterday.) Friday is also the first day of the Queen Bee Market. More preparing. The past two weeks have been a shit ton of “preparing.”
It’s really putting into perspective what the next couple months are going to be like with all the shows and holiday shoppers. And then, and THEN, Christmas is over and Valentine’s season starts. Aww shit. You know that’s my jam.
Two busy seasons and a wedding to plan. Wish me luck, will ya? Speaking of….we booked a venue and set a date just yesterday! It feels so good to have those huge details figured out so I can move on to what next. And I need to move fast….the weddings in six months. Eek! Feel free to leave me any wedding planning tips in the comments. ;] xo JA

Yay for your holiday line. I can’t wait to see them. =]

As for the wedding tip: Order your dress now. Or start looking now. I hear all the time that it take at least a year to make a wedding dress.

  • I just finished my holiday line too. Congrats!

Honestly, just enjoy the whole wedding planning thing. It will be here in a flash! If you can, keep your wedding party on the smaller side. We our 2 siblings stand up for us.

I just felt this same way as I was pulling stuff for my QBM booth. I want it to be “christmas-ey” but it’s halloween! It feels weird.

Oh my god… let´s jump up and down together! 🙂
My wedding is in six month too and i´m so excited to fix my plans for this big day!

YES. It’s very weird to take photos with Christmas props and listing to Christmas music and smell your pine candle and then walk out of the house to pumpkins. Jarring (but kind of cool at the same time). Also, I adore that Christmas cookie card. Nom.

  • Love this little sneak peak! I hate that retail skips over Thanksgiving and Christmas takes up SO MUCH prep time these days (or so it seems). Oh welllll, I’m still excited to see all your new Christmas cards soon!

holy cow six months?! def get your dress like…RIGHT NOW. save yourself some chaos and do the following: keep your bridal party to a minimum, be prepared to let things go as you plan, make lots of lists, and HIRE a day of coordinator! xo

  • Ooh looking forward to seeing your Christmas stock!

Last night we carved pumpkins and watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Talk about seasonal confusion!

All the best for your wedding planning. All I know about organising is to make plenty of lists!

My husband and I planned our wedding in about 6 months too – so I know it can be done! It’s a little stressful (but planning any big event is, right?). My tip – accept help when it’s offered, and delegate if you need to. 🙂 Be true to yourselves in terms of the style and details. And have fun! It’s a whirlwind but it goes so fast so enjoy it!
